Hana is a new addition to my kokeshi collection. The name "Hana" means flower in Japanese and she loves to wear colorful floral patterned kimono. This time I have chosen light sweet pink for her with a bright pink hair knot. This beautiful brooch is made of 3 different pieces fabrics and certainly will add character onto your clothes, bag and any place that you can think of. The sizes of the buttons are 1 1/2", 1 1/8" and 5/8" each.
Have you heard about Little Shop of... ? Well you better check out this little cute shop which is openning on 15th July 2009. I had a chance to visit the store and met the lovely owner who herself also into making handmade stuff. I have an opportunity to put some of my items in her shop. To make the hairpins more securely attached and invinsible from glue, I have taken extra effort to attach them with matching color of felt fabric. All hairpins (both bobby pins & snap on pins) are now made with this method. I have been using this method for all my brooches and received quite a good feedback. Everyone feel free to give opinion!
Happy Mother's Day!! To all the mothers (including myself..:p)!! Would love to hear how will you celebrate this special moment tomorrow. We currently have no special plan as yet but I remember last year my hubby was very kind enough to do ALL the housework and looking after my little boy, as well as cooking. We had a nice lunch at home and wonderful eat out dinner. The year before was the first Mother's Day for me and my boy was only about 2 weeks old, we had a small celebration with my mom-in-law who was kind enough to fly from overseas to look after me after giving birth. It was a great moment to be remembered forever.
